Principal's Corner
Dear Vicenza Elementary School Families,
It is a tremendous honor to join the Vicenza Elementary School community. Over the past few weeks, I have already seen the dedication, care, and pride that make this school such a special place for students and families. I am excited to serve as your principal and to work alongside our outstanding staff to support every child’s success.
I bring more than 25 years of experience in education to this role. My journey began in the Fort Worth School District in 2000 as a teacher at Worth Heights Elementary. I later taught at Trinity Valley School and North Side High School before joining the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) in 2018. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal at Antilles High School and Antilles Middle School in Puerto Rico, as well as at Rota Middle High School and Livorno Elementary Middle School. Each of these experiences has shaped my belief in the power of strong school communities and the importance of supporting every learner.
Before becoming an educator, I proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for the unique strengths and challenges of military-connected students and families. I understand the importance of stability, support, and strong relationships in helping students thrive.
My approach to leadership is guided by two core principles. First, every decision should be rooted in what is best for students and for the school community. Second, every student has both strengths and challenges, and with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, they can discover and reach their full potential.
Education has always been deeply personal to me. My own passion for learning was inspired by a remarkable 7th-grade history teacher who showed me how powerful a great educator can be in shaping a student’s future. That experience continues to guide my commitment to ensuring every student at Vicenza Elementary feels supported, challenged, and inspired.
I look forward to building strong partnerships with our families and community as we work together to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for all students. Thank you for the warm welcome I have already received. I am excited for the great work ahead.
Warm regards,
Mr. Edwin Caballero
Principal, Vicenza Elementary School
