VES proudly celebrated Constitution Day on September 17th!
Sep 18 2025 — Our incredible VES students embraced the spirit of civic learning in creative and meaningful ways! Fifth graders memorized and recited the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, a powerful way to connect with the values that shape our democracy. Through this activity, they strengthened their understanding of citizenship, unity, and the importance of historical documents. In art class with Mrs. Hoff, they brought history to life by experimenting with tea staining techniques to craft their own personal copies of the Preamble, giving each piece an aged, historical look. This artistic approach not only allowed students to reflect on the significance of the Constitution but also encouraged them to express their creativity.
Meanwhile, our young patriots in Mrs. Noel’s Kindergarten class teamed up with their 8th grade reading buddies for a hands-on civic experience. Together, they explored the foundations of democracy by creating a Class Constitution and crafting self-portraits to represent their roles as citizens. Just like our Founding Fathers, the Kindergarteners proudly signed their constitution, honoring the values of unity, responsibility, and civic pride.
From recitations to artistic interpretations and collaborative projects, VES students are learning to honor the past while shaping the future.
