This Week's Cougar Cubs Highlights

Hello VES Families,

We had a good week at school, and it was great to see students engaged in learning and enjoying time with their peers. We also had the opportunity to meet the new Community Superintendent, Mr. Michael Jimerson, and give him a tour of our school. He also got to meet many of the students!

As a reminder, keeping hands to self is a schoolwide expectation that we consistently reinforce throughout the day. We ask that families continue to support this expectation at home and remind students that if someone hurts them, or if they fall and get injured, they should immediately report it to an adult. There are always adults present at recess, actively supervising and ready to assist students as needed.

Please know that our staff members are consistently interacting with students and are doing their absolute best to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

Additionally, it is cold outside! Temperatures have been in the thirties/low forties during recess sessions. Students will be required to have long sleeves and (preferably) a jacket. For our older students, it seems to be an internalized sign of weakness to dress warmly. I ask that you also have a conversation with them about appropriate clothing for the weather and the importance of actually WEARING that clothing.

Thank you, as always, for your support. Have a wonderful long weekend and we will see you next Tuesday!

Warmly,
VES Administration Team
