Vicenza Students Shine During Complex-Wide STEAM Day

Vicenza Elementary School students recently took part in the 3rd Annual Complex-Wide STEAM Day, a special event that brought together students from both Vicenza Elementary School and Vicenza Middle School for a day full of learning, collaboration, and creativity.

The Vicenza Middle School students led 24 unique STEAM activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire younger learners through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Elementary classes rotated through engaging sessions that included interactive math games, STEAM-themed book reading, robotics exploration, science lab demonstrations, and even video production experiences.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was seeing middle school students step into leadership roles. By working directly with elementary students during reading and math activities, they were able to strengthen their academic skills while also developing confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and positive mentorship. These service-learning experiences support not only academic growth, but also social and emotional development for students at all grade levels.

For our elementary students, STEAM Day was an exciting opportunity to learn from older peers, explore new subjects, and get a “sneak peek” into middle school programs such as robotics, science labs, and media production. The collaboration across grade levels created an atmosphere of teamwork, curiosity, and positive role modeling throughout the day.

Events like STEAM Day strengthen the connection between our schools and help build a strong sense of community across the Vicenza complex. We are grateful for the partnership with Vicenza Middle School and look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration in the future.
