Vicenza, Italy - On May 28, 2026, Vicenza High School JROTC cadets conducted their annual service-learning project at Vicenza Elementary School, focusing on the importance of healthy lifestyles, nutrition, exercise, safety, and mental wellness for elementary students. Cadets partnered with 17 classrooms throughout the school day, working directly with students through interactive lessons, movement activities, discussions, and games designed to encourage positive lifestyle habits at an early age.

The lessons included healthy food choices and "rainbow foods," the importance of exercising, daily safety habits, mental health and emotions, and making positive choices that support success in school and in life.

Our cadets believe that eating right and staying active improves academics, focus, confidence, and overall fitness.

The service-learning project provided Vicenza High School cadets an opportunity to strengthen their communication, leadership, and mentorship skills while continuing to build positive partnerships within the Vicenza school community.

Cadets remained assigned to classrooms throughout the day to support instruction, build relationships with students, and help teachers facilitate all four lesson blocks focused on health and wellness education.
